OSFEST 2017 - DERBYSHIRES BEST 'FREE ENTRY' MUSIC FESTIVAL

Following OSFEST 2016's great success, the excellent first class sounding festival is to return in 2017 for three consecutive days.

First showcased in 2009, the festival has rapidly gained interest from the public, having sported over 100 unsigned acts with many returning year after year.

The festival is run by a number of volunteers who organise and put on the festival; the performers perform for free, giving up their own time to help support the wonderful family friendly event.

The extremely enthusiastic team, made up of local live music venue owners, promoters, sound engineers, and stage managers all contribute to ensuring the event runs seamlessly and give the performing acts the best support with top notch sound and artist promotion.

Last year attracted a number of stalls, amenities, caterers, and activity tents such as the 'A Planet Fit For Nature' tent:

The tent got the kids involved for most of the weekend as they created butterfly feeders, captured moths and spiders, keeping the kids occupied in a safe environment.

Faces were pulled -disgust on some, intrigue on others - as they peered into the bug containers, some even daring to hold the bugs (not me!).

Bands and artists who perform are offered free drinks and camping (just remember to bring a tent!).

Over the weekend, OSFEST 2016 had more than 300 campers and hundreds more who visited for the day.

Following in OSFEST 2016's foot-steps, OSFEST 2017 will be held at the excellent Broughton Heath Golf Club, perfect for staging a live music event set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. On the Saturday, similar to the last few years, the event will host two stages: a main stage for the bands and an acoustic stage for solo acts and stripped down band performances.

The OSFEST team say that "For 2017 we are aiming to make it bigger and better, we are continually building taking the positives from each previous event."
